GoLiveGirl: The App

Welcome to the LiveGirl App! Are you tired of having to scroll through our busy website when you're looking for something specific? Us too! We are pitching to implement our very own app that will act as a home base for all things LiveGirl. Whether you're looking to register for any of our programs, catch an episode of our podcast, see an art expo, or even meet new people, you can find it all here on the GoLiveGirl app. Here is my one-sheet outlining the key attributes and features of the app.

As I was trying to come up with my ideas for a potential app, my initial thoughts centered around trying to figure out what LiveGirl audiences and users need from the brand. As I scrolled through our website, I realized how navigating our tabs can be a bit confusing, especially if you just want to figure out how to become more involved with LiveGirl and our programs. We need a place where the LiveGirl community can connect on a deeper level, and have more accessibility when it comes to our amazing programs that we have year after year.

This brings us to GoLiveGirl: The App. Everything that you might need to get involved with our organization, you can find here. Our grid-like home page will give you access to several pages and links. Some examples include:

An events page set up like a calendar, where all the listings for upcoming programs and events are located. Here, there will also be a livestream section and a chat room where users can connect virtually and discuss about various LiveGirl programs.

A podcast page that includes access to the most recent podcast episodes as well as the previous ones that users can listen to free of charge through Apple or Spotify.

An exhibits page where users can take a virtual tour of art expos such as the "She is Rising" exhibition that occurs annually. These will be posted on YouTube, and then the link will be available to access through the app.

A resources page that leads to other organizational links and sites such as donation pages, the LiveGirl blog, and other free downloadable content such as the Camp LiveGirl activity book pages.

There are so many benefits that will come out of this app for users, as well as for LiveGirl to extend our brand engagement. Users will be more involved in what's going on because of the active social calendar and chat rooms. The livestream feature will make it easier for more people out of the immediate area to connect and participate. The app will also be more accessible because users won't have to spend extra time scrolling through our website. As for LiveGirl, this app will be fantastic for us in several ways. Not too many local non-profits can say that they have their own app, so this will definitely set LiveGirl apart and make us appear more organized, professional and unique. We will be able to engage more not only with our immediate community, but with others from all over the world as well. It will bring us way more participants and help spread the word.

My plan for a social media rollout is as follows:

Research: Of all the social platforms that we use, we are the most active on Instagram, so this will be the place to focus on most when advertising for the app.

Objective: To have users rely on the app to register for events and communicate instead of the website.

Plan: I will hold a month long Instagram campaign to celebrate and introduce the app. This will include daily posts such as "How-To" tutorials going through app features and navigation, LiveGirl trivia to boost engagement and get people talking about our organization, polls to see what users are most excited to see, and a countdown to launch day that will get everyone excited! This will be posted as an Instagram story and will be added to an "app" highlight reel for people to refer back to at any time.

Evaluate: After launch, we will continue to monitor app analytics and send out a survey to users a few months after the launch to get feedback on the app and ask everyone about ways that we could improve.
